Job Opening: Morning Edition Host/Producer
WRVO Radio/Research Foundation of SUNY have an excellent opportunity for a full-time Morning Edition Host/Producer. The host works with the Morning Edition News Producer to develop and present timely and creative news programming. The host has a keen understanding of national and regional news and can work with the Morning Edition News Producer to conceptualize and execute an informative morning program news program that seamlessly transitions from local to national content, and meets WRVO's mission statement and public radio's core values. Shift: 0445-1315 Weekdays. May also be required to work holidays or weekends
QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS Degree-Journalism or Communications preferred. Three Years broadcasting on-air experience with a demonstrated ability to host live radio weekday mornings in a strong, polished, conversational manner. Demonstrated ability to conduct live interviews and prepare produced material for later broadcast. Functional knowledge of broadcast technology and appropriate computer software, preference given to Adobe Audition. Experience working with a diverse paid and volunteer staff. Familiarity with public radio programming.
WRVO attempts to present material that challenges, provokes, broadens, educates or entertains, emphasis is placed on issue-oriented news produced in National Public Radio style The successful candidate will strive to enhance intellectual development and expand knowledge in an attempt to help the listener become a more informed, responsive human being.
The WRVO Stations are a multi-station network serving Central and Northern New York with an NPR News/Information format. WRVO is located in Oswego, NY, at the State University of New York College at Oswego.
